Pictures of Jason’s tonsillectomy

I know you all have been dying to see what my mouth looks like. Luckily for you, I’m feeling up to sharing such goodies as the Lancaster home photos of my tonsillectomy. Thrilling, ain’t it? I can’t talk today (as previously mentioned in comments) but Amy brought me Doom 3. Now I’ll have to get Adam to call me back and bring my good computer from work so I can play. Yay!

I can’t decide whether it looked more disgusting in person or in the pic. The pic gives it more of a greenish tinge, but there’s just something about seeing that gunk up close that is enough to make me lose my appetite for a couple of days… All I know is that I ain’t kissing that for a couple of days! :-P

  • I tihnk you would have had to call me for me to “call you back” … but, you’re on medication so who knows… BTW, That’s gross. (kissing Amy) … JUST KIDDING. You sure have an obsession with weird Jason injury photos.

Your mouth looks great compared to mine! I’m 36 years old, and had my tonsils out on the 21st of Feb. 2 and 1/2 weeks later, I still am unable to eat, and have lost 15 lbs. One hell of a crash diet huh? To anyone who has to have an adult tonsillectomy: It’s terrible…painful, but make them give you good pain killers, it makes things a little easier.

Jason, I am interested in talking to you about the process of getting your tonsillectomy. I need one too!

I can definitely identify what everybody is going through as far as having their tonsils removed. I”m 46 and had mine removed on July 20 of this year. I had an emgergency Tonsillectomy, mine has always been very large expecially the left tonsil.
I’m doing fine my doctor warned me of the pain and he wasn’t kidding for two weeks I was miserable and of course lost about 13lbs which I can’t afford to lose was already small until the operation.
I recovered very well according to my doctor, the only thing is my taste hasn’t come back. I asked my doctor and he said it would take a couple of months that this was normal to lose your taste after having your tonsils removed. I can only taste certain things, I miss drinking orange juice the taste is horrible, along with drinking an sprite every know or then that taste flat,. I have been drinking more water than usual because water doesn’t have a taste to it.
The whole thing in a nut shell everything tastes bland!! even if I do add salt still can’t taste anything!!
I can’t wait to start really tasting again, because it’s torture right know because you can’t really enjoy anything that you are eating.
