I love my Vibram Five Fingers. I think we discovered them at the same time and I rushed out that day at lunch hour to buy a pair. When I was at MEC (www.mec.ca) I tried two pairs. The first pair, I tried was my normal shoe size which was too large even with the heal cord tightened up. I opted for the next size down as it fitted better. I found that buying a pair of Five fingers is like buying a pair of gloves. It takes many tries before you get the right fit and feel. I was at MEC recently and eyeing the "sprint." The heal cord is now a strap and there is a cross-bar to hold your foot in better. One idea would be to trace your two feet (one foot is usually larger than the other) onto pieces of paper while standing as it causes your foot to stretch out. Scan the two pieces of paper with a ruler and send the scanned pictures to Vibram to see if it helps them get you a better fit. I'll stop by MEC and see if I wear the same size in the original and in the "sprint."
