Dom, yeah, but you’re paying $10 more a month. I’m sure it’ll take some time to add up, but in a year you’ll pay $120 more than me, and you and Jaimie combined will have paid $240 more than Adam and I. It’s not such a great deal…

Jaimie and I will be getting one tomorrow provided they are still in stock around lunch time. I sure am glad that I waited… now I can get 2 iPhones and a month or two of service for about what you paid for yours

I’ve already downloaded Google Mobile and NetNewsWire for the iPhone. I left my syncing cables at work though, so I can’t install the new firmware on my phone tonight (it is out in the wild if you search for it). I’ll have to wait until tomorrow morning. Doh!

Once the hype dies down I’ll likely buy the iPhone 3G. It has taken about a year for it to come above the 49th parallel.

I’ve downloaded a couple of apps from the AppStore and eagerly awaiting the iPhone 2.0 software for the Touch so I can run these programs.

I agree that if Garmin hooked up with Apple for GPS support they could do wonders as Garmin is the market leader.

JC, what apps you guys are downloading from the AppStore?

I don’t mean to nit-pick, but I think you mean iPhone 3G — not iPhone 2.0. You’ll need the 2.0 software to run those “real” apps

What’s really disappointing to me is that I don’t think you’ll be able to buy a 2G iPhone any longer. If I had to make a decision to buy a new iPhone tomorrow, I think I’d like the option of buying a 2G. Sure, the 3G is less expensive up-front, but long term you’ll be paying $10/mo more.
