While spacing out thinking about a recent add-on to Nagios I’ve been writing for work that will relay SNMP traps to the Nagios server, I began thinking about Little Debbie honey buns you buy in a vending machine.

*flashback*

In high school, starting in 9th grade, Dan Klier and I would go to the cafeteria for breakfast. Sometimes we’d meet up with Dave or Ted and Wayne, other times we would eat by ourselves. I’d almost always get a honey bun and chocolate milk, although sometimes I’d actually opt for the coffee cakes. When we were freshmen, they didn’t actually make time for breakfast in the morning ritual, so if you ate breakfast you were actually late to homeroom (yea, we had real homeroom too in 9th grade). The lunch (er, breakfast) ladies gave out passes to anyone eating so they weren’t in trouble. Our homerooms were based on name, so at my homeroom table was Lauren Kuda, Danielle Klein, Dan Klier, a few others, and myself. We had some home economics teacher who we only saw for 10 minutes a day so we never really got to know her.

They messed with homeroom in 10th grade, doing some odd thing where your first class started and then homeroom was immediately after your first class. I guess having seperate homeroom teachers was an unnecessary burden.

Too bad they didn’t make it so that breakfast ate into class time. They of course replanned the schedule so breakfast was served before the first bell.

Stuff and stuff

Adam came down on Thursday night and we had a good time. We went to a steak place called Houston’s for dinner and then hung out at a martini bar called Swigs which is just down the street from my house. I wish I could have my friends come down here more often. Hop on a plane, people!

Now and Later

Have you ever eaten a giant Now and Later? Well apparently Adam has not. He bit into the now and later as hard as he could and got this painful disgusting “ARGH” facial expression. It was mighty cool and then he spit it out in disgust into my trash can. Yum!

I like swing dancing, climbing, programming, web applications, games, and being outdoors. I talk about all of these things and much, much more on this website.
